About the Journal
Hensard Journal of Environment (HJE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to publishing original research, critical reviews, and evidence-based policy analyses addressing pressing environmental issues. The journal focuses on themes such as climate change, biodiversity loss, ecosystem degradation, pollution, sustainable land and water management, and environmental governance—particularly as they affect Nigeria and other regions of the Global South. HJE provides a multidisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to exchange knowledge and propose solutions to national and regional environmental challenges, including deforestation in the Niger Delta, desertification in the North, coastal erosion, oil spill contamination, urban flooding, and waste management crises in Nigerian cities.
