HJPED aims to advance interdisciplinary scholarship at the intersection of public policy, economics, governance, and sustainable development. The journal publishes original research, review articles, policy analyses, and evidence-based case studies that contribute to theoretical innovation, empirical understanding, and practical policy formulation in both developing and emerging economies.
The journal’s scope encompasses, but is not limited to, economic development, public finance, political economy, governance and institutions, regional integration, development planning, social policy, poverty and inequality, climate–economy interactions, infrastructure development, public sector reform, trade and globalization, and comparative development studies. Particular emphasis is placed on research that addresses context-specific development issues while engaging with global theoretical and methodological debates.
HJPED is committed to high editorial standards, transparency, and academic integrity, employing a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and credibility of published work. As an open-access journal, HJPED seeks to promote inclusive knowledge dissemination, enabling policymakers, academics, development practitioners, and researchers worldwide to access and apply research findings without financial or institutional barriers.
By bridging academic research and policy practice, the Hensard Journal of Policy, Economics and Development aspires to contribute meaningfully to evidence-based policymaking, sustainable development discourse, and socio-economic transformation across the Global South and beyond.
