Forensic Security and the Law in Nigeria as a Panacea for Modern Defence Mechanism

The sophistication of modern crime in Nigeria has necessitated a transition from traditional investigative techniques to scientifically driven methods. This paper examines forensic security as a viable panacea for modern defence challenges in Nigeria. It analyses the legal framework governing forensic evidence, focusing on statutory provisions and judicial authorities. This paper argues that forensic security, when effectively integrated with Nigeria’s legal system, serves as a panacea for modern defence challenges. The study further evaluates the role of forensic science in enhancing criminal justice administration and identifies challenges inhibiting its effectiveness. It concludes that while Nigeria has made significant progress through legislative and judicial recognition of forensic evidence, substantial reforms are required to optimize its utility in modern defence systems. The research is purely doctrinal as primary and secondary sources of relevant materials are consulted with a purpose making recommendations that will help the policy makers in the security and justice sector in Nigeria.
